Zimzelen is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is part of Kardzhali Municipality, Kardzhali Region.
It is 4 km north-east of Kardzhali, 97 km west of Svilengrad, 41 km south-west of Haskovo, 246 km in the same direction of Burgas and 244 km south-east of Sofia.
Village of Zimzelen spreads out in mountainous region, in the Eastern Rhodopes, on 383 m above the sea level. Here is located the natural phenomenon The Stone Wedding, which represents group of rock formations resembling 'frozen' wedding-guests.
The climate is transitional-Mediterranean with hot summer and mild winter.
The population is approximately 110 people.
The village is provided with electricity, water and communication equipment. The management is in the neighbouring village of Povet (2 km).
The students attend school in the regional town of Kardzhali, where are the nearest hospitals as well.
The village is famous for its rock phenomenon The Stone wedding - group of natural rock formations of figures with height up to 10 m, resembling wedding-guests. The site is natural landmark. It could be reached by a marked ecological path as well.
Just 19 km away is the archeological complex of 'Perperikon' - one of the 100 National Tourist Sites.
