Village of Slaveyno

Slaveyno is a village in South Bulgaria. It is located in Smolyan Municipality, Smolyan region.

Slaveyno is situated 33 km northeast away from the city of Smolyan, 92 km south from the city of Plovdiv and 240 km away from the capital city Sofia.
There is a regular bus transport from Plovdiv, Kardzhali amd Smolyan to the village.

Slaveyno Village is located in the Prespanski share of the Central Rhodopes. It is situated along the river Malka Arda, at an altitude of 1150 meters.

The climate is mountainous, with lower summer temperatures and heavy rainfall,  snow cover stays relatively longer.
The population is around 160 inhabitants.

In Slaveyno there are few shops, community center and library.
Guests of the village can be accommodated in comfortable guest houses and small family hotels and enjoy traditional Rhodopian dishes as a "klin", "trahana" and "kolaci".

Because of the favorable climate and clean natural environment, in the village is located secondary health school "Professor Dr. Konstantin Chilov".

An interesting fact is that Slaveyno is known for the large number of doctors who were born in it - over 80!

Cultural and natural attractions:

- House-Museum of Prof. Dr. Konstantin Chilov.
- Exhibition shelter with various exposures of photographs that tell the history of the village.
- Besides the church of "St. Ilya" - known for its golden domes around the village are located four well-preserved chapels.
- Near the village is peak Prespa (Chiltepe) - 2001 m and  Prespa hut.
- In the land of the village there are historic sites, such sites are: Imaret Dere (Haidushki Meadows) Inoglovo, Balitsko, Bahtyaritsa.
