Planinsko is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Banite Municipality, Smolyan region.
It is located 39 km north from the village of Banite, 76 km northeast from the town of Smolyan, in the same direction at 68 km from the town of Chepelare and 221 km southeast from the city of Sofia.
Located 1300 meters above sea level on the border between Western and Eastern Rhodopes. The climate is characterized by cool summers and moderately cold sunny winters.
The permanent population is 5 people.
In the neighboring village of Zagrazhden / 8 km south / you will find town hall, community center, post office, school, health center, two shops and a pub. The nearest hospital is in the town of Smolyan.
Tourism and landmarks
Zagrazhden eco trail starts in the village, it follows natural landmark Dobrin pool, waterfalls "Purgatory" and "Kozarnika", area Dvete topoli and Roman Bridge.
Near village of Davidkovo / 22 km / there is dam and a pond. There are breed carp and crucian carp, silver carp, grass carp and trout.
Village of Banite is a resort of national and international importance, mineral water for its healing properties, built complexes attract more people with the need of rehabilitation as well as tourists from home and abroad.
During the archaeological excavations were found the oldest handicrafts dating from the II century. Ancient and medieval fortresses and roads carrying tourists in the past.
