Novachene is a village in North Bulgaria. It is situated in Nikopol municipality, Pleven region.
In Bulgaria there is another village that carries the same name and it is situated in Botevgrad municipality, Sofia region.
It is 23 km south of the town of Nikopol, 37 km northeast of Pleven and 202 km northeast of Sofia.
Novachene is located in the Danubian Plain at about 18 m altitude. In proximity is Osam river.
The climate is temperate with big changes in the temperatures - hot summer and cold winter.
The permanent population is about 1300 people.
The village is with constructed electricity and water installations. Here work a GP, food store and internet club. There are functioning pharmacy, post office, town hall, primary school, kindergarten and community center.
Regular bus transportation connects it to the other settlements in the country.
The surrounding area is picturesque. The proximity to Osam river creates perfect conditions for relaxation, hunting and fishing. There are also possibilities for tourism in Nikopol and around Danube river.
In the town of Nikopol there are many landmarks such "Eliya" drinking fountain, the church "St St Petar and Paul", the Nikopol fortress, "Vassil Levksi museum" etc.
In the town of Pleven you can visit three of the 100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria - Pleven Epopee 1877, the Regional History museum and the mausoleum-chapel "St George Pobedonosets". Other interesting places in proximity are Kaylaka parkand the Wine Museum.
