Location:  city of Pleven

Kayluka is a park in Pleven, located in the picturesque valley of the Tuchenitsa river.

It is only 6 km south of the town of Pleven, 164 km northeast of Sofia, 35 km north of Lovech, 117 km northwest of the town of Veliko Tarnovo.

The park is 10,000 acres. Beautiful gorge is formed in a park in the year 1946 on the initiative of General Ivan Vinarov and under the direction of building committee Kaylaka. The first designer of the park is architect Tiholov. In its construction all take an active part Pleven citizenship. Twenty-five years continued urbanization of the park. Now the park offers a unique combination of possibilities for walking, recreation and entertainment.

Sheer cliffs, higher than 20 meters are suitable for practicing rock climbing. The area hosts a rich and diverse flora and fauna - unique to Bulgaria and the Balkan Peninsula plants and many birds and mammals included in the Red Book of Bulgaria.

In the same area are the remains of a Roman road station Storgozia and historic Totlebenov  val, now well-fortified small dam. Here is located the town zoo. There are swimming pools, playground with attractive entertainment, tennis courts, lake with boats and water wheels, recreation.

One of a kind in the country cave museum is the Museum of Wine in Kaylaka Park. This project is cooperation of Bulgarian and French architects, wine experts from Pleven Panorama and Historical Museum in Pleven.
Pleven has been chosen for implementation of this unique project as it is considered the first center of the wine industry in Bulgaria. The first professional school of Viticulture and Enology in Pleven is discovered in 1890, and in 1902 is created the National Institute of Wine in Bulgaria.
The collection is arranged in five cavernous galleries with a total area of 650 sq.m cave is located 5 km from Pleven.
The museum collection includes more than 7000 bottles. Visitors have the opportunity to learn about the history of wine and to taste different varieties. The museum is located in a cave in a park near Pleven Kaylaka. Its collection includes wines aged between 30 and 90 years. Part of the collection are 6000 bottles of modern wines from all brands and regions.
Cave stores and 100 barrels of French oak, ancient vessels for wine, and rhytons phiales drinking the divine drink.

Chuprene Biosphere Reserve

The reserve is one of the largest biosphere reserves in Bulgaria. It is established in 1973 to preserve the northern coniferous forests of Bulgaria. In 1977 it was included in the list of biosphere reserves under the program "Man and Biosphere".
