Banishte is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Breznik municipality, Pernik region.
It is 23 km west of the town of Breznik and 43 km north west of the town of Pernik. The capital Sofia is 68 km east.
Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements.
It is situated in a hollow and its altitude is 918 m. The climate is temperate with clearly expressed temperature inversions in the valleys.
The permanent population is about 70 people.
Here are functioning store and community center. Near the village there is stadium and there is also football team named "Balkan". Hospital, dentists and pharmacies are working in Breznik. Kindergartens and schools there are in the village of Noevtsi (18 km) and in the municipality.
The church "St Yoan Bogoslov" in the village is dated back to 1870. On the outside its beautiful frescoes are completely renovated and partial restoration is made of those on the inside.
In proximity to Banishte is located Kopran peak. You should go on an excursion to it not only for the fresh mountain and the beautiful scenery but also to see the four karst springs at the foot of the peak.
People who enjoy fishing could take advantage of the conditions made near Breznishki izvor dam (7 km) and Lilyantsi dam (8 km).
The Vrabcha waterfall (15 km) is another natural landmark you could visit in the weekend.
