In close proximity is Mezek winery (in the village also has a small boutique winery of the same name) where you can try authentic local wines. Beneath the fortress lies a complex of new bungalow-houses, tennis court, restaurant and mini-hotel under construction. All this allows the development of wine tourism.

In 2006, an eco-trail is marked with a length of about 7 km - from the center of the village to the Sheinovets peak.

In 2008 Mezek was declared an eco-village and in 2009 the village gets seal for an unique European settlement.

Near the village there are three historical and archaeological sites. One is the Thracian tomb from the third quarter of the fourth century BC, which is one of the best preserved medieval castles in our land. The second is a Byzantine fortress and the third is the dome tomb just before the peak of Sheinovets.
