The village of Rogosh

Rogosh is situated in Southern Bulgaria and is part of municipality Maritsa, Plovdiv Region.

The village is situated 8 km northeast direction from the town of Plovdiv.

The population is about 3500 inhabitants.

The terrain is hilly plain with average altitude of 146 m.
The climate is transcontinental with mild winter and temperatures around -2ºС, warm and dry summer with temperatures around 28ºС.

Well-developed infrastructure that includes electricity, water installations, telephones, sewerage in most parts and there is a project for its finishing, internet and cable TV.

There is regular bus transport to and from the town of Plovdiv. A railway line Plovdiv-Stara Zagora that has a stop in the village.
Also there is a school, kindergarten, community center, post office and church.

General practitioner serves the needs of the inhabitants. There are commercial outlets and cafes.

There are gas stations and working workshops for sewing, bicycles, woodworking, mosaic, soft and alcohol drinks, etc.

 

PLACES OF INTEREST AND TOURISM:

Asenova krepost  is a medieval fortress in the Bulgarian Rhodope Mountains, on a high rocky ridge on the left bank of the Asenitsa River. It is situated 15 km from the town of Sadovo. The best preserved and most notable feature of Asenova krepost is the Holy Theotokos of Petrich Church from the 12th-13th century. The town of Asenovgrad takes its modern name from the fortress.
The Bachkovo Monastery or Petritsoni Monastery is situated 35 km from the town and is an important monument of Christian architecture and one of the largest and oldest in Bulgaria. It is located on the right bank of the Chepelare River. The monastery is known and appreciated for the unique combination of Byzantine, Caucasian and Bulgarian culture, united by the common faith.

Also close are situated the town of Chepelare and Pamporovo Resort. This locations have perfect conditions for winter sports and because their beautiful nature they attract tourists also in the summer.
