Cherna gora is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Pernik municipality, Pernik region.
There is another settlement in Bulgaria with the same name - village of Cherna gora in Bratya Daskalovi municipality, Stara Zagora region.
It is 12 km west of Pernik and 2 km in the same direction from the town of Batanovtsi. The capital Sofia is 39 km northeast.
It located at the foot of Cherna (Tsarna) gora mountain and its altitude is 341 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by mild and snowy winter and cool summer.
Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements.
The permanent population is about 341 people.
In the village are functioning mayor's vice royalty, community center, store and tavern. The nearest GP, dentist, school and kindergarten are situated in the town of Batanovtsi. Specialized medical assistance you can get in the town of Pernik.
Tourism and landmarks
The proximity to the mountain creates good conditions for tourism. Just a few km away are Vetrushka (1158 m) and Tumba (1129 m) peaks.
Within a radius of around 10 km are located the dams Bushlayk, Yardzilovtsi, Varba, Slakovtsi and Pchelina that offer great opportunities for fishing and relaxation in the nature.
Giginski monastery "St st Kozma and Damyan" (9 km) is pleasant place for an excursion. Near Pernik you could visit the medieval Krakra fortress.
