The village of Dolna Riksa is located in Montana municipality, Montana region. 

  

It is situated 25 km north-west from Montana, 16 south of Brusartsi, about 40 km south-east of Belogradchik, 38 km west of Lom and about 130 km north of Sofia. The international road E-79, which connects Vidin and the Kulata passes 6 km away. 

  

Dolna Riksa is situated at the foot of Fore Balkan mountain, on the riverside of Selska bara. 
The climate is characterized by cold and snowy winters and warm summers. 

  

The population numbers about 230 people. 

  

It has built electricity and water supply systems. All mobile operators have coverage. There are shops, pubs, post office, community center, town hall. Regular bus service connects it with Montana. 

  

Opportunities for tourism and landmarks: 

  

Dolna Riksa has excellent conditions for fishing. Besides the river, which passes through the village, about 12 km away is set the dam Hristo Smirnenski. 

  

Belogradchik Rocks are rock formations located about 40 km away from the village. They're part of the hundred tourist sites. 

  

Magura cave is located about 56 km near the town Dimovo. 

  

A curious fact is that Ricks islands located near Greenwich Island, part of the South Shetland Islands are named from the villages of Dolna Riksa and Kamenna Riksa.
