Dolna Sekirna is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Breznik municipality, Pernik region

It is 21 km southwest of the town of Breznik and 41 km northwest of Pernik. The village of Kosharevo is 7 km east. The capital Sofia is 66 km east. 

Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements. 

It is located at the foot of Golemi vrah peak and its altitude is 776 m. The climate is temperate with clearly expressed temperature inversions in the valleys.

The permanent population is about 274 people.

In the village functions "Ivo Voivoda" community center which is on more than one hundred years. There are also shop, post office, town hall and hunting society. One GP helps the people in Dolna Sekirna and Kosharevo. In the town of Breznik you can find hospital, dentists and pharmacies. There are schools and kindergartens in Noevtsi village (16 km) and in Breznik. 

Tourism and landmarks

Landmarks that could be visited in the area are the Giginski monastery "St st Kozma and Damyan" and the church "St Nickolay Letni". 

Bardoto area is famous for its "zhelyazna" mineral water which springs from the south part of the hill in Leskov dol area. The mineral spring attracts healthy and sick people from the ancient past for its healing characteristics which are due to the rich mineral chemical compounds and valuable physico-chemical and and physiological characteristics.

Near the Slakovtsi dam there is complex for relaxation and fishing that offers excellent conditions for rest and fishing. It is located just 15 km of Pernik and is with modern bungalows situated in a beautiful cherry tree garden.
