Gorna Glogovitsa is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Zemen municipality, Pernik region.
It is 20 km north of the town of Zemen and 62 km west of the town of Pernik. The village of Divlya is 5 km south and the capital Sofia is 89 km northeast.
It is located in mountain region and its altitude is 1034 m. The climate is temperate but it is influenced by the mountain relief and it is characterized by cold winter and warm summer.
The permanent population is about 90 people.
Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements.
Here are functioning mayor's vice royalty, store and coffee shop. GP works in the neighboring village of Divlya. The nearest schools and kindergartens are on the territory of the town of Zemen where there also is polyclinic and hospital you will find on the territory of the town of Pleven.
In the village there is hunting party.
Near the village could be seen the remains of Gradishte fortress. Another interesting place is the area Golyama mogila where soon will be finished chapel and it is nice place for walks. Here is organized traditional festival.
Cultural landmarks that you can visit in the area are Chepinski monastery "St prorok Iliya" (7 km) and Giginski monastery St st Cosmas and Damyan (14 km).
The people that enjoy fishing could visit Breznishki izvor dam (16 km) and Pchelina dam (18 km) where there are wonderful conditions for fishing.
