Location
Rozovo village nestles at the vicinity of West Rhodopy Mountains, at about 650 m above sea-level. It is considered as part of Bratsigovo municipality, Pazadzhik region. The village is located in the south of town of Bratsigovo at 5 km distance. As the name suggests, the thing that is abundant here is… roses. Population: 600 inhabitants. The region is rich in natural and historical landmarks.
The village is typically mountainous, outstanding with its beautiful scenery, picturesque views, fresh air, however the roads are well-maintained and therefore Rozovo is easily accessible round-the-year. Most of the houses are built in the 70s and 80s.
History
Located on the north slopes of West Rhodopy Mountains, Rozovo village has an extremely interesting history. It is established in the end of the XVII or in the very beginning of XVIII centuries.
On the territory there are ancient citadels found as follows: Gerkinsko, Kievsko, Stoilsko, Yurushko, Tamrashko and Gradishko fortresses. The main occupation of the local at that time has been agriculture, stock-/cattle-breeding and coal production. The first school in the region opens is built between 1861 and 1865. The local library "Prosveta" is established in 1911.
Climate
The climate on the territory is transience-continental. The avarage temperature varies between 10 till 18 degrees. There is a short-lasting spring and cold, however the during the summer the climate is warm and pleasant, the winter is soft and mild.
Agriculture
The combination of the nature, climate and the 650-700 m above sea level form a great conditions for producing vegetables and fruits. At the moment most of the people grow strawberries. A good opportunity for growing rose plantations. Currently more than 10 000 sq.m. of rose plantations are available owned by local enterprising people.
Cultural and natural landmarks
At a 7 km distance to Rozovo village is the picturesque place of Rozovski vriz. This countryside is famous for the many springs leading to a beautiful small dam situated close to the village. The native inhabitants call the dam "Gyuvetcha" named after its specific shape. As well this is prefered place for recreation from the tourists all over the world all due to the cristal-cleaned springs and frsh air.
Eco-region
The village is far away from the city pollution and litter louts, and the fresh mountain air with mild climate form it as a typical eco-region. The infrastructure is well-maintained with neat streets and country houses.
