Golemo Buchino is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Pernik municipality, Pernik region.
It is located 10 km east of Pernik. The village of Dragichevo is 10 km south, Malo Buchino is 8 km northeast, Vladaya is 17 km east. The capital Sofia is 23 km east of the village.
The village is well laid out and is just 2 km from Lyulin highway. There is regular bus transportation. Electricity and water installations.
Golemo Buchino is situated at the foot of Lyulin mountain and its altitude is 853 m. The spring comes early, the summer is hot and the winter is cold. Mists fall very often.
The permanent population is 660 people.
Community center, pensioners club, town hall, shop and church are functioning in the village. The nearest hospital, school and kindergarten are in Pernik.
Tourism and landmarks
From the village there is beautiful view to Vitosha mountain.
Local landmarks are Vuznesenie Gospodne monastery, Holy Spirit church and the chapel in the outskirts of the village.
Malo Buchino dam offers perfect conditions for fishing.
Ostritsa botanical reserve is situated on the slopes of Ostritsa peak in Golo Burdo mountain which separates the Pernik hollow from the Radomir hollow is a must see.
In Rudartsi village there are two outdoor swimming pools with mineral water and around them there is artificial beach.
