Svirachi is a village in southern Bulgaria, it is situated in Ivaylovgrad municipality, Haskovo region.

The village is situated in the southeastern prats of Rhodopes mountain, 3 km west of the Bulgarian-Greek border,  6 km south of Ivaylovgrad, 60 km east of Krumovgrad and about 120 km southeast of Haskovo.

Through the village passes the main road from the community center Ivaylovgrad to the bed of Byala reka River and the villages located along it. On the outskirts of the village there are several small springs, but the land is generally dry, with no significant sources. To the north, on the road to Ivaylovgrad passes Armira river.

The altitude is 235 m.

The climate is influenced by the Medditeranean and is characterized with mild winters and hot and dry summers, with temperatures often reaching above 40 C. The spring comes early and the autumns are long.

The population of the village is about 350 people.

Svirachi is well developed, it is electrified, water supplied, with mobile communications coverage. There is a primary school, a church, two shops, two restaurants. Closest kindergarten and medical center are in Ivaylovgrad.

Tourism and landmarks

"Smokinevata kushta" /Fig's house/ is a renovated house in traditional Bulgarian style, with pool and barbecue, which is rented year round.

"St. Dimitar" church was built in 1859, and is famous for the icon of the Virgin Mary, which, the residents of Svirachi believe is miraculous and protects them.

At approximately equal distance between Svirachi and Ivaylovgrad is the medieval fortress "Mramoren Grad" /"Marble City"/, which was an important frontier fortress for Tsar Kaloyan in XII century.

"Ivaylovgrad" dam is the third major dam along the Arda river. With its 35 to 37 km is the longest one in Bulgaria. Its wall is located between the villages of Lambuh and Huhla, about 5 kilometers away from the border with Greece. Possibility of fishing, water sports, walking, cycling, walks, etc.
