Village of Tsenovich

Tsenovich is a village situated in North-eastern Bulgaria. It is located in Silistra Municipality, Silistra region.

It is about 16 km south from town of Silistra, 88 km north-west from town of Dobrich, 142 km in the same direction from town of Varna, 105 km north from town of Shumen and 133 km east from town of Ruse.

Tsenovich is a holiday settlement with population of about 50 people.

It is located in a beautiful land in the eastern part of the Danube plain. Danube River is about 11 km away. The village is on 72 m above sea level. The relief is plain and hilly. The climate is humid continental and characterizes with hot summer, early spring and cold winter.

The village is small but well-developed. It is provided with electricity, water and telephone net. Good infrastructure - all streets are asphalted and accessible round-the-year. The village is constructed mainly with coquettish villas. It is preferred for recreation and living as well. There is a mayor, a pensioner's club and shops.

Tsenovich could be reached by the main road Silistra-Shumen. Regular transportation goes to town of Silistra.

The nearest schools and kindergartens are in village of Professor Ishirkovo (10 km away) and town of Silistra (16 km away). There are health services in the neighbouring village of Babuk - just 1 km away.

The main soils in the region are black-earth. They are suitable for planting grain crops, perennial trees and vegetables. This is the main reason why agriculture and processing industry are so well-developed. There is an agriculture co-operation.

Tourism

There are three dams in radius of 3 km. They are attractive places for the fishing lovers.

Danube River is in close proximity as well (about 11 km away). It is convenient for sun-bathing, sport activities and tourism. There are several small islands offering good conditions for recreation.

Srebarna bio-reserve next to Srebarna Dam is an interesting place to visit as well. The lake is 2.3 m deep and draw its water from several karst springs. There could be seen rare species of birds such as Dalmatian pelican, cormorant, heron, mute swan, grey goose, duck, western marsh harrier, bluethroat, bearded reedling, etc.
