Debnevo is a village in Troyan municipality, Lovech region.
It is situated 20 km north-east from Troyan, about 30 km south from Lovech, 15 km north from Oreshak, about 18 north from Apriltsi and around 128 north-west from Sofia city.
Debnevo is the biggest village in Troyan municipality, with population of 720 people. It is located on the riverside of Vidima at the foot of Balkan mountain, on about 560 m altitude.
The village has excellently developed infrastructure- it has full electricity and water supply, there is sewerage. The village comprises with a school, kindergarten, shops, cafes, a library, supermarkets, restaurants. There is a health station with a doctor and dentist.
There is a factory for production of tea. The village has regular daily transport to the neighrbour settlements. There are several Britain families who live in the village during the whole year.
Kaleto fortress is situated in the village. There were found finds dated from the times of Neolith / 5000-1500 BC/, Byzantine coins and ornaments, etc. Today, those finds can be seen in the Debnevo museum and the National History Museum in Sofia.
Laka area is known as a stop for swimming and beach. There are horse races every year in July.
The Monastery of Troyan is 14 km away from the village.
Vidim river provides opportunities for developing of fishing tourism.
There are several family hotels which offer excellent conditions for accomodation and restaurants with typical Bulgarian food.
