Tankovo is a village is Southeast Bulgaria and it is part of Nessebar municipality, Burgas region.
It is 4 km northwest of the sea resort Sunny beach, 8 km northwest of the historical town of Nessebar and 28 km northwest of the town of Burgas.
The relief is predominantly plain. The altitude varies between 0 and 49 m. The climate is temperate and very much influenced by the Black sea and by the winds that come from the Mediterranean sea.
It is characterized by mild winter and hot summer and they refresh the dry summer days that are very hot, they make the nights nice and cool.
The permanent population is about 1180 people.
The infrastructure is well maintained. The village of Tankovo is with constructed water and electricity systems. There are good transportation links with the settlements in the region. In the village there are working kindergarten, school and community center, football team that is named Ustrem.
Tankovo is with incredible nature - green plains, blue and green artificial lakes, small hills, and breathtaking view to the bay of Slunchev bryag. All these natural riches make it very attractive for relaxation and investments of Bulgarian and foreign citizens.
The proximity to the large resorts gives the settlers the opportunity to relax and to be away of the busy every day life and the noise.
The typical climate conditions in the area are good for the development of the wine yards and the growing of vegetables. The stock breeding is one of the main activities of the local farmers. In December in the village there is celebrated the festival of the grape rakiya (typical alcoholic drink).
