Chernodab is a village in South Bulgaria. It is situated in Svilengrad municipality, Haskovo region.
It is 13 km east of the town of Svilengrad, 20 km southeast of the town of Lyubimets, 40 km southeast of the town of Harmali. The border with Turkey is a few kilometers away.
The relief is on some parts plain on the others it is hilly and low mountain and its altitude is 150 m.
The climate is continental Mediterranean and is characterized by dry and hot summer and warm and rainy winter.
The village is with good infrastructure it is with electricity and water systems, all mobile operators have coverage. The main streets are asphalted, there is regular bus transportation to the neighboring settlements and the towns in the municipality. The nearest medical center and school are in the town of Svilengrad.
In the a spring whose water has a taste similar to the mineral. The area is famous for its tobacco and wine varieties.
Tourist landmarks that can be visited in the area:
Fortress Mezek - almost completely preserved Byzantine fortress of the VI century, located 6 km southwest of the Municipality. There were found unique items made of gold, bronze, iron, glass and ceramic. It is in close proximity to a Thracian tomb, which annually attracts many tourists.
The rock churches in the areas of the villages Mihalich and Matochina. They date back from the X century and one of the well-preserved in Bulgaria.
Thracian altar complex - Gluhite kamani (the Depth stones) - Thracian complex that consists of niches in the rocks and is situated in Gluhite kamani area under Sveta Marina peak above Malko Gradishte village, 10 km from the town of Lyubimets. The cultural monument is one large funerary and cult complex, later when the christianity was spread there was constructed a church.
The Svilengrad museum offers the tourists to opportunity to know the cultural-historical heritage of the municipality.
