Village of Novachevo

Novachevo is a village in southeastern Bulgaria. It is located in Sliven Municipality, Sliven region.

It is 23 km northwest from the town of Sliven, 37 km northeast from the town of Tvarditza, and 316 km in the same direction from the capital city Sofia. The nearby village of Byala is located 4 km southeast.
There is regular bus transport.

Located at an altitude of 502 m and the climate is mountainous and temperate continental. The winter here is cold, snowy and long, cool summer. Environmental conditions are favourable for the cultivation of fodder crops, potatoes, tobacco, raspberries. Forests and meadows are rich in mushrooms and mountain strawberries.

The population is about 940 people. A significant part of it is employed in forestry, wood and planting and during the summer months many people collect wild herbs and mushrooms.

The village has a town hall, a mosque, a library, community center, school, kindergarten, shops and cafes. There is cable TV, Internet and mobile phone coverage. You can rely on a General Practitioner of the village. The nearest hospital is in the town of Sliven.

Tourism and landmarks

Reserve "White Cow" in the village of Byala - abundant wildlife (deer, roe deer, wild boar, wolf, fox and etc.), rock formations and caves. Especially attractive is the karst spring in the reserve from which gushes pearly clean water.

In Sliven village guests can visit: church "St. Sofia", church "St. Mary", the History Museum, the Ethnographic Museum, the House - Museum Hadzhi Dimitar.

Area Karandila is located in the northeast part of Sliven. There is situated the National Park "Blue Rocks" with an area of 11,380 hectares, it has many interesting rock formations.

34 km is located one of the largest spa complexes in the country, Sliven Mineral Baths.
