Krasnovo is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is located in Municipality Hisarya, District of Plovdiv.

It stands about 29 km north-east of the town of Hisarya, about 50 km north-west of the town of Plovdiv, about 52 km north-east of the town of Pazardjik, about 53 north-east of the town of Karlovo and about 164 km south-east of the capital of Sofia.

There are bus lines, linking Krasnovo to Hisarya and Plovdiv.

The relief of the village is flat and hilly, with average altitude of 370 m.
The climate in the region is characterized with its transitional character. Winters are mild and warm, spring is early and relatively warm, the summers are hot and dry, and autumns are warm and sunny.

The population of Krasnovo is about 820 residents.

The village infrastructure is settled with street network and lights, sewerage system, telephones.

There is a town house, church, post office, school, community center, shops and restaurants. The closest kindergarten is in the village of Starosel, about 8 km north-west of Krasnovo.

The medical services are provided by GP and dentist. The closest hospital is in the town ofHisarya.

Attractions:

About 2 km east of Krasnovo are Krasnovski spas. There is a hyper-thermal water source with temperature 57°C. A holiday resort is in process of construction there.

The first historical evidence about the region of Krasnovo show that the vicinity has been inhabited by Thracian tribes. At 2 k north-west of the village, along one of the local roads more than 270 Thracian mounds with height between 0.5 and 7-8 m have been found.

A Thracian cult complex – one of the 100 tourist sites ofBulgariais located in thevillageofStarosel. In Chetinova Mogila were found the remains of the most impressive Thracian temple, founded inV century BC.

The reservoir of Banski Dol is about 4.5 km east, Stena Reservoir is about 6 km north-east and Pyasachnik Reservoir is about 10 km away from Krasnovo. These are reservoirs suitable for fishing and tourism. The region around the villageis a well-known destination for the hunting fens.
