Kopanitsa is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Radomir municipality, Pernik region.
It is 4 km north of the town of Radomir and 18 km southwest of Pernik. The capital Sofia is 45 km northeast.
It located in the Radomirska hollow on the west bank of Struma river and its altitude is 699 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by inversions in the temperature and fogs.
Railway and bus transportation connect it to the other settlements.
The permanent population is about 197 people.
Here are functioning church, community center, store and guest house. There are also stadium and football club. The nearest school and kindergarten are in Radomir where you could get medical assistance. In the village there is survakari group and dance group.
Just a kilometer away is Bushlyak dam which is nice place for fishing and relaxation. Pchelina dam (15 km) also offers excellent opportunities for fishing and tourism.
You could go on excursion in the located in proximity mountains Golo bardo and Cherna gora.
Interesting sight is Giginski monastery "St st Kozma and Damyan" (10 km). Near Pernik a must see is the medieval fortress Krakra.
