Kovachevo

Kovachevo is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is in Septemvri Municipality, District of Pazardjik.

There are two other settlements in Bulgaria with the same name. One is located in Sandanski Municipality, District of Blagoevgrad, and the other is in Radnevo Municipality, District of Stara Zagora.

Kovachevo stands about 6 km east of the town of Septemvri, about 13 km west of the town of Pazardjik and about 100 km south-east of the capital of Sofia.

European route E80 is about 2 km sourth of the village and Trakia Motorway (A1) is about 15 km north.
Regular bus transportation links the village to Septemvri and Pazardjik.

The relief of Kovachevo is flat and the average altitude is about 220 m.
Climate in the region is continental, characterized with early spring, long hot an dry summers, late autumn and cold winters.

The village population is about 2530 residents.

The infrastructure is settled with partly asphalted streets and lights,sewerage system under construction, water-supply system, telephone lines and coverage of mobile operators.

There is a town house, church, community center, post office, base and primary schools and kindergarten and shops at the disposal of village residents.

Medical services are provided by two GP and two dentists. The closest hospital, as well as high schools are in the town of Pazardjik.

Maritsa River passes less than 2 km north of the village.

 

Town of Batak is situated about 45 km because of its natural resources and location it is ideal for hunting, fishing, rural, mountain and hobby tourism, as well as winter and water sports.

 

50 km is year round mountain resort Tsigov Chark, which is located on the picturesque Batak and proximity to the hills of the Rhodope peak Syutkya (2,186 m) offers excellent opportunities for fishing and eco trails in the summer.

 

Velingrad, which is famous for an abundance of mineral water with temperatures between 28-86 º C is about 60 km away. Today there are flocking patients not only from Bulgaria, seeking its healing waters.

 

Many museums and cultural sights can be visited in Pazardzhik and the region.
