Malinovo village is located in the municipality of Lovech, Lovech region.
In Bulgaria there is another village with the same name - in Sevlievo municipality, Gabrovo region.
It is situated 18 km south-east of Lovech, 18 km west of Sevlievo, 68 km south-west of Veliko Tarnovo, 22 km north of Apriltsi and about 160 km north-east of Sofia. Sofia-Varna highway passes nearby.
The village is situated 604 meters above sea level. The climate is characterized by relatively warm summers but cold winters with strong winds.
The population is around 1000. Several British families own properties in the village.
There are a primary school, community center, kindergarten, shops, several guest houses, health center with a GP and dentist. Malinovo has regular bus transport to Troyan, Sevlievo, Lovech and Veliko Tarnovo.
The dams Krapets and Poleto are located near by, which offer excellent conditions for fishing.
9 km away is situated the architectural reserve "Old Stefanovo". The complex includes 96 houses built in the XIX century, with typical architecture.
Museum Kukrinsko inn in the village of Kakrina- a part of the one hundred national historic sites. Here was captured Vasil Levski.
Devetaska cave, which is one of the largest caves in Europe.
