Dermantsi

Dermantsi is a village in Northern Bulgaria. It is located in the municipality of Lukovit, Lovech region

  

It is situated 35 km west of Lovech city, 11 km south-east of Lukovit, 19 km west of Yablanitsa and 94 km north-east of Sofia. 

  

The terrain is hilly. The altitude is about 240 meters. The climate is temperate with cold winters and hot summers. The average January temperature is -1,5 º C, and the average July is 23 º C. 
The population is around 2400 inhabitants. 
The territory of the village operate a primary school, kindergarten and community center. There are grocery stores, restaurants, post office, dental clinic, GP, pharmacy. The village has a convenient bus service connecting it with neighboring villages and towns. There is a stadium in Dermantsi, and the local football team is named "Vit." 

  

Tourism: 

  

The river Vit passes in immediate proximity to the village. It attracts fishermen with its rich fisheries. Dermantsi and and neighboring village Uglen are well-known hunting area. 
There are many cycling and walking routes here. The numerous caves in the municipality offer excellent opportunities for rock climbing. There are conditions for extreme sports - water canoe trips in Iskar, paragliding and bungee jumping. 
The Geopark "Iskar - Panega" is located near Lukovit and it is the first in Bulgaria Landscape Park near a river. The route follows the valley of the River Panega, a tributary of Iskar. In Geopark there are excellent conditions for organizing the perfect team-building in nature, including bungee jumping from the northern entrance of "Prohodna" and Alpine skiing from the "ochite /eyes/" of the cave, canoeing and rafting trip with raft alondside River Gold Panega, mountain biking, paintball , off-road and rock climbing.
