Sindeltsi is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is part of the municipality of Momchilgrad, Kardzhali Region.

It is located 22 km south-east of Momchilgrad, 38 km in the same direction of the regional center Kardzhali, 14 km west of Krumovgrad and about 278 km south-east of the capital - Sofia city.

Sindeltsi is located only 3 km away one of the main thoroughfares in Southern Bulgaria - II 59 Momchilgrad - Krumovgrad - Ivaylovgrad which connects the municipality of Krumovgrad with the neighboring municipalities, the regional center Kardzhali and the national transport network.

The village of Sindeltsi is located in the Eastern Rhodopes at an altitude about 365 m. The climate is transitional Mediterranean, the winter is mild and the summer - long and hot. Sindeltsi comprises several naighbourhoods - Dafin, Dilyana, Dolnyane and Zalist.

The population of the village is about 270 people.

The village of Sindeltsi has a relatively good infrastructure - most of the streets are paved, the village has electricity and water supply systems, all mobile operators have coverage, bus transport connects the village with the municipal town.

There are a community center "Hristo Botev", a mosque and a grocery store here. Primary school and kindergarten you can find in the village of Zvezdel /6 km in the north-west/. Medical assistance can be obtainde in Krumovgrad where you will find two health cneters - a general hospital and a medical center.

LANDMARKS AND TOURISM

Those who like fishing can take advantage of the excellent conditions of Karamfil Dam situated close to the village bearing the same name /3 km in the north/.

The medieval fortress Asara, built in XI-XII century is located near the village of Zvezdel. The fort used to serve for the defense of Zvezdel mine where gold ans silver were mined. The most precious finding from the research of the site were the unique medallions - part of the icon, decorated with gold leaf found in the chapel.

In the town of Krumovgrad one can visit a number of sites with cultural and historical significance. The town was built on the foundations af a fortified settlement. One part of the fortification has been saved and is located in the center of the town.

The medieval nave church in the central part of Krumovgrad is also an interesting site. It was built of hewn stones soldered with white plaster.

The mosque "Seytlyar dzhamisi" is also a site with importance for the cultural heritage of the town. It was built on the foundations of an old wooden mosque from XVI - XVIII century and is believed to be the main reason for the existance of Krumovgrad and the villages that surround it. The friday meetings of people there were the reason for trade relations to arise, for commercial stores and, later, even house to appear.

Interesting for tourists is the architectural landmark Rock tomb - sanctuary located near the village of Rogach /10 km east of Sindeltsi/. The sanctuary is located on the right bank of the River Krumovitsa. This place is known among locals as Guyu or Kuyu and is revered as sacred as two small holes resembling human steps were found on the rocks. These tracks are called “The steps of Ali" (Muslim saint).
