Petelovo is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is part of Chernoochene Municipality, Kardzhali region.

Petelovo is located 8 km north of the village of Chernoochene, 23 km in the same direction of the town of Kardzhali, 27 km south-west of Haskovo and about 235 km south-east of the capital Sofia city. The village of Pchelarovo is situated 5 km away in the south.

The village is set in the Eastern Rhodopes, at an altitude of about 352 m on the very border between Haskovo Region and Kardzhali Region. The relief is mountainous and the climate characterizes with warm summer and cold winter.

Mount St. Elenka is situated in the close proximity of the village and Mount Stok Petra is located east of it.

The population is approximately 210 people whose main livelihood is provided by tobacco growing.

The village's infrastructure is relatively well settled - with partly asphalted and lighted streets. Petelovo is provided with water and electricity and has coverage of the mobile operators. There are a mayor viceroyalty, a church, a mosque, a cafe and a grocery store here. In the village of Pchelorovo you can find a GP and a community centre with various literature. The nearest schools, kindergartens and health centers are in the municipal center - Chernoochene.

TOURISM

The medieval fortress in Gradishteto land is situated very close to the village, near the road leading to Haskovo. The fortress is a local monument of culture as well. It is easily accessible and is a pleasant place to visit.

Those who like fishing can take advantage of the excellent conditions of the dam bearing the same name located in the settlement of the village of Petelovo as well as of Pchelarovo Dam. Every year in the church of the village a prayer for rain is held. It gathers people from the whole region.

The church of St. Paraskeva in the village of Pchelarovo, known among locals as "St. Petka" is an interesting site. It features original bell tower with six-wall dome with cross over round columns. Near the church is the old monastery school. In close proximity is the big fountain with a small chapel in front of it. The church is operational and is announced as a monument of culture.

Representative of the rare Scots Pine could also be seen in Pchelarovo - "The Venerable pine" is more than 500 years old. It is next to the church.
