Lozenitsa is a village situated in South-western Bulgaria. It is part of Sandanski Municipality, Blagoevgrad region.
Lozenitsa is 78 km south-east from town of Blagoevgrad, 17 km in the same direction from town of Sandanski, 172 km south from city of Sofia, 3 km west from town of Melnik, 12 km north from village of Kulata and 23 km east from town of Petrich.
Its population is approximately 74 people.
The village spreads out at the foot of Pirin Mountain, at the valley of Melnishka River. The sea altitude is 391 m. The area is hilly and reveals splendid panoramic views of the whole region, including the Melnik sand pyramids.
The climate characterizes with Mediterranean influence - mild winters and autumns, hot, long summers and early springs.
The climate conditions are favourable for vine-growing, fruit-growing and early vegetable-growing.
Lozenitsa is famous with its vineyard massifs. One of the most specific is the local sort of Shiroka Melnishka Loza (Melnik broad vine in English). This sort grows only here in the sandy, clay soils of the region. Other sorts in the area are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Fran.
The biggest cellar for wine sampling is located here. The cellar meets guests, organizes vineyard visits and professional wine sampling.
The road leading to the smallest town in Bulgaria - Melnik (3 km away) passes through here. The town is famous with its sand pyramids and wine cellars. Several kilometers up the hill is the Rozhen Monastery, which is one of the Medieval Bulgarian monasteries kept until nowadays.
The village is provided with electricity, water supply and bus lines to the regional and municipal centres. Village of Sklave (7 km away) comprises a doctor and a dentist. Educational centres are available in town of Sandanski.
