Tsvetkova bara is a village in northwestern Bulgaria. It is located in Berkovitsa municipality, Montana District.

The village is less than 9 km southeast of Berkovitsa, about 10 km west of Varshets, 32 km south of Montana and approximately 85 km northwest of Sofia.

The terrain is mountainous and the average altitude - 509 meters. The climate is temperate, characterized by snowy winters, cool summers and rainy springs and autumns.

The village has electricity and water, the streets are partially paved. There is coverage of all mobile operators.

Tsvetkova bara is located less than a kilometer from the road Berkovitsa - Varshets. The buses don't enter the village but pass along that road. The distance from the center of the village to that road can be traveled on foot.

Tsvetkova bara's population is 16 people. Their houses were built at the foot of a hill.

The village does'n have its own town hall or shop. Residents travel to the neighboring village of Barziya /5 km northwest/ and its kindergarten, primary school, shops, restaurants, doctor and dentist. Specialized medical care can be obtained at the municipal center.

 

Landmarks and tourism

Tsvetkova bara is a small picturesque village in the foothills of the Balkan Mountains, with magnificent views of Todorini kukli peak. A small river passes near, there are beech forests around.

The area is attractive for rural tourism and offers excellent opportunities for fishing and hunting. Nearby are Srechenska bara dam lake and Klisurski monastery. Less than six kilometers east, in the village of Spanchevtsi are Minkovi mineral baths, and another 4 km in the same direction lies Varshets, well known spa resort with mineral water and pure nature. There treat diseases of the heart, the nervous and the musculoskeletal system.
From Tsvetkova bara leave trails to Todorini kukli. Skiing is possible on Kom peak, situated a few miles southwest of Berkovitsa.
The city guests can explore the house-museum "Ivan Vazov", the situated nearby Architectural Museum of Culture and the Clock Tower, which is a remarkable monument, built in 1762. It impresses with a solid construction and a beautiful top, where clockwork still works.
