Gabrovdol is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Zemen municipality, Pernik region.

It is 27 km north of the town of Zemen and 28 km west of the town of Pernik. The neighboring villages of Gigintsi and Berende are 3 km northeast and 3 km southeast, the village of Noevtsi is 9 km northeast. The capital Sofia is 67 km in the same direction.

It is located in mountain region at the foot of Cherna (Tsarna) gora mountain and its altitude is 866 m. The climate is temperate and is influenced by the low mountain relief. It is characterized by cold winters and considerably hot summers.

The permanent population is about 82 people. There are constructed water and electricity systems.

Bus transportation connects it to the town of Zemen.

Gabrovdol is famous for its survakari group - it makes attractive costumes, masks - "Litsies" and presents rituals of the masks and their meaning. The group often travels abroad to participate in different festivals.

Tourism and landmarks

Just a few kilometers from the village is located the Giginski monastery "St st Kozma and Damyan". In it there is healing mineral water. It is famous for the produced by the monks ecologically clean products - buffalo yogurt, honey and wine. The road to the sacred place is nice for walks and the distance takes less than an hour walking. 

Upper in the mountain but not far is situated the highest peak in it Tumba peak (1129 m).

Bardoto area is famous for its "zhelyazna" mineral water which springs from the south part of the hill in Leskov dol area. The mineral spring attracts healthy and sick people from the ancient past for its healing characteristics which are due to the rich mineral chemical compounds and valuable physico-chemical and and physiological characteristics.
