Dojdevitsa

Dojdevitsa is a village in Western Bulgaria. It is part of Municipality Kyustendil, District of Kyustendil.

It stands about 15 km north-west of the town of Kyustendil.

The population is about 15 residents.

The relief is mid-mountain, with average altitude of 1040 m.
The climate in the region is continental, characterized with mild winters and warm and dry summers.

The infrastructure in Dodjevitsa includes partly asphalted and lighted streets, electric and water-supply systems and telephones.

The village is about 15 km away from the European route E79, linking the settlement to the capital of Sofia and the border checkpoint of Gyueshevo.

Outside the village is Dojdevitsa railway station, on the route Kyustendil – Gyueshevo.

Deputy mayor of village Blatets is also incharge of the villages of Lisets and Dojdevitsa. The local church Virgin Mary was built in 1926.

Medical care to the residents is provided by GP visiting the village.

The closest hospitals and schools are in the town of Kyustendil.

Attractions

Dozhdevitsa is detached in a mountainous area of outstanding natural beauty and offers very good conditions for hunting and hiking.

The close proximity of Kyustendil makes possible visiting of the spas and Roman baths in Kyustendil. The hill of Hisarlaka is rising about 2 km  south-east of the town. There is a fortress there, built at the end of IV and the beginning of V century.
