Gaytanevo is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Gorna Malina municipality, Sofia region.
It is 6 km southeast of the village of Aprilovo, 14 km south of the village of Belopoptsi and 11 km southwest of the town of Gorna malina. The capital Sofia is 40 km west.
It is located at the foot of Stara planina mountain north and Sredna gora south. The altitude is about 679 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by considerably cold and long winter, the summer is considerably hot. Lots of precipitation fall in the spring and the summer.
The village is well maintained. The main streets are asphalted and with lighting. There are constructed water and electricity systems. All mobile operators have coverage. Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements. In proximity passes the Podbalkan road E-871 that helps the connection to the capital Sofia.
The permanent population is about 218 people.
Here are functioning town hall, community center with library, store and restaurant. The nearest school and kindergarten are in the neighboring village of Aprilovo. Medical assistance you can get again in Aprilovo from the GP and the dentists who work there. The nearest hospital is in the town of Elin Pelin.
Babata hill near the neighboring village of Aprilovo and are created great conditions for paragliding.
Belopoptsi dam is suitable for fishing and excursions. The hunting tourism is developed. There are great conditions for there two hunting grounds "Aramliets" and "Vitinya".
In the village of Ravno pole (21 km in west direction) is built "St. Sofia Golf Club & Spa" - a complex of world-class golf course with modern design and breathtaking mountain view to Vitosha. The club was found in 2004 and has a golf shop, instructors, modern spa to relax after a tough competition.
