Belovo is a town is Southern Bulgaria. It is located in municipality Belovo, Pazardzhik district.
The town is situated 28 km northern direction of the town of Pazardzhik and 12 km of the town of Septemvri.
The population is about 4000 inhabitants.
The terrain is hilly plain with average altitude of 293 m. The climate in the area is transcontinental. The winter is mild with average temperatures about -1ºС and the summer is sunny and dry with average temperatures about 26ºС.
Yantra River passes through the center of the town. Another river that passes through Belovo is Maritsa.
Infrastructure
The town has electricity, water and sewerage installations, internet and cable TV.
The street and transport networks are well-developed.
International road E-8 and railway Sofia-Istanbul.
There is a secondary school, kindergarten, community center and a hospital.
Economy
The wooden industry is well developed. There are quarries for sand and gravel.
There is a large paper mill “Belana PLC – Belovo”, that manufactures and exports paper in Europe. Processing waste paper is also maintained here.
Mineral springs are situated close to the town and are sources of production of bottled mineral water and soft drinks.
Tourism
In closeness are the West parts of the Rodopi Mountain that is an excellent opportunity for mountain and cultural tourism.
The town of Velingrad is around 40 km away with more than 200 000 visitors who come for the numerous mineral water springs, comfortable and modern baths, the soft climate and the wonderful nature of the town. The most precious natural treasure of the town of velingrad is the mineral water springs. The temperature of the springs varies from 280ºС up to 860ºС.
Also close is situated the town of Batak where you can go fishing, hunting and do all kind of tourism as well as winter and water sports.
47 km away is the year-round mountain resort Tsigov chark set on the territory of the Western Rodopi Mountain - south-east from the picturesque Batak Dam. Batak Dam waters offer unforgettable moments for fishing and water sports. Many chalets and hotels are at your service in the area if you want to relax in the beauty and fresh air of Rodopi Mountain.
