Brusartsi is a town in Montana region. It is the administrative center of the Brusartsi Municipality .
It si located 23 km from the town of Lom, 37 km from Montana, 50 km from Vidin and 75 km from Vratsa. The town is the administrative center of Municipality Brusartsi that consists of nine constituent villages - Vasilovtsi, Dondukov Bukovets, Oak neighborhood, Kiselev, Knyajevo mahala, Kriva Bara, Smirnenski (formerly Lukovitsa and Gaytantsi) and Odorovtsi. It is a railway junction of the lines of the railway stations Mezdra-Vidin and Lom-Mezdra, and provides road links with Vidin, Lom and Belogradchik.
The town is situated in the western part of the Danube hilly plain on the river terraces of Nechinska bara river, a tributary of Lom, a height of 100 m. To the east rises Polomski venets hill.
The flat nature of the topography, natural soil fertility and the possibilities of mechanized processing is a prerequisite for the development of the plant-growing, mainly in the cultivation of grains - bread, grain - forage crops, vineyards and orchards, pastures and the availability of creating conditions for development livestock.
Brusartsi had industrial and agricultural structure in the 80's - there were ceramic factory, repair plant, promcombine, but after 1989 gradually de-industrialized.
Today the first factory in Bulgaria for the production of biodiesel and accompanying products pharmaceutical glycerine and fertilizer (potassium phosphate and potassium sulphate) is situated in Brusartsi.
There are two schools, four kindergartens, community center, two pharmacies and two medical office in the town.
Brusartsi roads are second class and third class. The municipality has a railway station, which connects Sofia with Brusartsi, Lom and nearby towns. It is located 33 km from the European road E-79 (Romania-Bulgaria-Greece)
