Town of Kostadinovo

Kostadinovo is a town in Southern Bulgaria and is part of Rakitovo Municipality, Pazardzhik Region.
Kostadinovo lies about 40 km southwestern direction of the town of Pazardzhik, 5 km from the administrative center Rakitovo, about 9 km eastern direction from the town of Velingrad and 125 km southeastern direction of the capital city – Sofia.
Kostadinovo is located in the Rhodope Mountain. It is situated in the Chepinskata valley. The average altitude is 900 m. The population is about 4342 inhabitants. The climate is temperate with cool summer and mild winter.
There is regular bus transport.
About 3 km western direction there is a railway station with the same name as the town. This railway connects the Gornotrakiiska valley with the Western Rhodope, Rila and Pirin mountains.
Kostadinovo has a community center, library, internet center and a kindergarten.
The primary school „Neofit Rilski“ has been opened since 1906. There is a medical cabinet with two general practitioners and two dentists.
In the area there are manufacturing companies that provide jobs for the people there. The main occupation is the processing of hops and wood. Here is the only working factory for hop pellets in the Balkans. There are companies for woodworking, perfume, carpets, clothing, bricks and painting shops.
Places of interest and tourism
There is a swimming pool with mineral water that helps skin to hydrate more and treats many internal diseases.
About 7 km western direction of the town is situated one of the biggest dams in Bulgaria – Batak. This place offers opportunities for fishing, walks and family holidays.
An interesting place to visit is the paleontological field in the nearby village of Dorkovo.
An advantage is the closeness to one of the famous SPA destination in the Balkans – Velingrad.
