history

Only scarce information of the village's  past is available.  A small quantity of Serbian and Bosnian coins dated back to 14th century near the village.
The legend of how Hrabrovo was established is being told by the locals. It has it that in the beginning of the 19th century a Turkish village named Kerez Orman (meaning "cherry forest" in Turkish) lied at the foot of Dobrudja Plateau, on a hill descending to Batovska Valley. Its name derived from the abundance of wild cherry trees in the area. As the population of the village grew the stock breeders' needs of vast pastures increased too. This was probably the reason why two brothers, the Turks named Hamza and Ali settled in the valley. They built a ranch in the most southern part of nowadays Hrabrovo village. The new settlement was named after the two brothers Hamzalar and in the 50's of 20th century its name was changed to Hrabrovo.
