Tatari is a village in North Bulgaria. It is situated in Belene municipality, Pleven region.
It is 18 km south of the town of Belene and 56 km northeast of the town of Pleven. The neighboring village of Tatari is 7 km southwest while the village of Dekov is 9 km northwest. The capital Sofia is 221 km southwest.
It is located in the Danubian plain and its altitude is between 100 and 199 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by cold winter and hot summer.
The permanent population is 386 people.
Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements. The main streets are asphalted and with lightning. All mobile operators have coverage.
Here are functioning town hall, community center, kindergarten, store and restaurant. GP works in the neighboring village of Petokladentsi. Specialized medical assistance you can get at the hospital in the town of Belene. There are also working schools.
In proximity to Petokladentsi could be seen one of the few menhirs in Bulgaria.
The most interesting touristic sight on the territory of the municipality is natural park Persina. It encompasses the 19 Belenski islands. It is unique and significant ecologically for here are located three biosphere reserves:
Danube river with its impressive width near the town of Belene, beautiful banks and slow flow offers opportunities for the development of hunting, fishing and routе tourism.
