Razhena is a village in Central Bulgaria. It is located in Kazanlak Municipality, Stara Zagora Region.

The village of Razhena is located 15 km far from the municipal center Kazanlak and 26 km far from the regional center Stara Zagora. The distance between Razhena and the capital Sofia is 179 km. The village is in a mountain region at the foot of Sredna gora. It is situated close to Tundzha river, west of the village of Yagoda and east of the village of Kanchevo.

The altitude is 433 m. The population is 1 192 inhabitants.

The climate is humid continental with temperately hot summer and high rainfall ratio. 

There is an all-day kindergarten, a primary school and a community center in the village of Razhena. There is also one general practising doctor, and the closest medical center is in the municipal center Kazanlak.

The old name of Razhena is Hamarsaz. The village festival is celebrated on the day of Saint Ivan every year. 

Surroundings and sights

The village is located in a very beautiful region between two mountains - Stara planina (Balkan Mountain) and Sredna gora. The nature is rich of flora and fauna, with large fields, many of which planted with roses. The life in the village is calm, and the air - clean.

Tourism

The village of Razhena is located very close to the Rose Valley of Bulgaria which is a popular tourist destination. The oil rose of Kazanlak, widespread in the region, is well known for its qualities. The Museum of the Oil Rose which is unique by its type is located in the municipal center Kazanlak. The ambition of Kazanlak Municipality is to make the unique regional festival of the Rose a national festival, and the cultivation of roses and rose oil production to be developed with priority.
