Resen is a village in Veliko Turnovomunicipality, Veliko Tarnovo region.

It is 18 km northwest of Veliko Tarnovo, 18 km in the same direction of Gorna Oryahovitsa, 23 km south of the Polski Trambesh and about 230 km northeast of Sofia.

The village is situated at an altitude of 69 meters. In its territory Negovanka River flows into the River Rosica. The climate is characterized by warm summers and cold winters.

The population is about 2,000. There are regular bus (line № 66) and rail transportation.

In Resen hthere are a town hall, post office, community center, primary school and kindergarten, a club of pensioners and disabled people, youth club. There are also shops and restaurants. On the territory of the settlement operate a wine factory, ceramic factory, bakery, a factory for processing of textile material, military unit. Available to residents are Internet, cable and digital TV.

Medical care is covered by three GPs and a dentist, and the nearest hospital is located in Veliko Tarnovo.

Sightseeing:

St. Demetrios church was built in XV century. It and the square of the village are fully restored.

In the village Samovodene / 6 km / can be seen the church "Saint Irene" and ethnographic museum "Maslyankov and sons."

About 14 km is one of the most famous monasteries in the country - Transfiguration Monastery. It can be reached by car on the highway and walk a path starting from Samovodene.

Arbanassi is located 21 km away from the village. With its monumental National Revival architecture of 16-17 centuries the houses and churches and its natural Arbanassi is a paradise for tourists.

Old capital Veliko Tarnovo is a cultural, historical and tourist center with a rich history.
