Ovcha mogila is a village in Northern Bulgaria, it is located in the municipality of Svishtov, Veliko Tarnovo Region.

The village is 75 km northwest of the town of Veliko Tarnovo and 30 km south of Svishtov.

The population is about 2000 people.

The terrain is hilly plain with an average altitude of 80 m.

The climate is temperate. Winters with much snow, but mild with average temperatures about 1ºС, summer, sunny and cool with average temperatures around 22ºC.

The village is well-developed with excellent infrastructure, including electrification, water-main, partial sewerage system, telephone service, post office, social, educational and professional resource center, Internet and cable TV.

5 km away is situated a railway station close to the village of Morava and 2 km south passes the  European route E83 Byala-Pleven-Jablanica-Botevgrad-Sofia.

There is regular bus transport to and from the village.

The village has a town-hall, school, kindergarten, community center, church, pharmacy, health service, dental office, veterinary clinic and a specialized hospital for rehabilitation.

In the city there is a hotel-restaurant, cafes and a well developed commercial network.


Places of interest and tourism

At about 2 km south is the dam Ovcha Mogila, place appropriate for fishing, relaxation and hiking.

The village has a hotel which is located close the mineral bath. It is a favorite place to spend summer holidays for many of the visitors who combine it with the water procedures, known for their healing properties thanks to the mineral water.

The village of Arbanasi is situated about 70 km away. It is distinguished by its impressive houses and churches with rich interior decoration, carving and mural paintings created in XVI-XVII century. These unique monuments of our architectural and artistic heritage are the reason Arbanassi to be frequently visited not only by tourists but also by scientists, archeologists, historians, architects and artists.
