Lukovo is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Svoge municipality, Sofia region.

The village is 12 south of Svoge and 22 km north of Sofia.

Lukovo is a Balcan village and is situated in the Iskar gorge on altitude of 550 m.

The climate is temperate but is influenced by the hilly relief. This makes the winter cold, the summer cool and the fall comes early than in other parts of the country. The climate conditions and the mountain terrain allow the bee keeping, the collecting of raspberries, herbs and mushrooms.

The permanent population is about 298 people.

The nearest schools and medical centers are located in Svoge. In the village is functioning community center "Hristo Botev".

In the area near the center of the village and the railway station there many nice houses, well stocked store, pub, coffee shop and playground for kinds. By train from Sofia it is 30 minutes to the village. There are also route taxis.

In the village there is villa zone which is popular among the people who seek peaceful place for relaxation in the beautiful nature.

Annually on the 6-th of May there is festival of the village.

Tourists could visit the Batuliya monastery.

In the municipality there a few natural and architectural landmarks that should be seen - Lakatnishki rocks near the village of Lakatnik and Temnata dupka cave at their foot. In proximity to Bov village is Skaklya waterfall and Elata cave, the Sedemte prestola monastery /Elisayna/ and the Iskrets monastery. As well as a couple of cottages in the area of Proboinitsa, Trustenaya, Dobarchin etc. The nature around Svoge is exceptional with the variety of its forests and beautiful meadows.
