Lesnovo is a village municipality of Elin Pelin, District Sofia.

It is 5 km east of the town of Elin Pelin, 33 km in the same direction from the capital Sofia, 9 km northeast of Trakia highway, 12 km south of Hemus highway.

The population is about 1 750 people.

Lesnovo Village is located in the eastern part of Sofia Valley, between the slopes of Stara Planina to the north and Sredna gora to the southeast.
The landscape of the village is flat and around it goes Lesnovska River , which flows into the Iskar River.
Climatically, the area falls within an area with temperate climatic influence. It is characterized by moderately warm summers and relatively cool winters. The average January temperature is -1.8 C, the average temperature in July is 18.0 C.

The village is electrified, with maintained infrastructure. There are electricity, water supply and communication networks. Missing sewerage network.
There is Primary school Hristo Botev, kindergarten Slaveiche, community center, shops and cafes.
Hospital and medical practices in a community center.
Convenient transportation to Sofia -shuttle and buses.
There are also airfield suitable for landing and residence of business jets, for such sporting or recreational purposes and also for training flights.

The village is preferred by many people to purchase property because of its proximity and good transport links with the capital.

Tourism

One of the landmarks of the village church of St. Archangel Michael, built early last century and rebuilt at the beginning of this. It is the only region church with three domes and one of the few in Bulgaria.

As a natural phenomenon can be observed and the oldest tree in the region Old Oak - the age of 500 years.

The village church is Holy Trinity, which in 2005 celebrated the 170th anniversary of the building.

Natural resources are excellent for tourism. Developed international hunting tourism in Aramliets and Vitinya areas.
There are opportunities for rural tourism development and construction of facilities for recreation.
Ognianovo dam offers excellent conditions for water and motor sports.
In the village of Ravno pole is built St. Sofia Golf& Spa Club.

In the settlement is built St Sophia Golf Club & Spa - a world level, with a golf course designed by legendary golfer Paul McGinley, with modern design and breathtaking mountain view.

The club is founded in 2004 and has a golf shop, instructors, and a modern spa to unwind after a tough competition. There is also a golf academy with instructors.
Here almost every month are organized tournaments. Even in winter the activity is not fading - then hold long-awaited and exciting event of snow.
