Komarevo is a village in North-Eastern Bulgaria, part of Provadiya Municipality, Varna Region. It is located 10 km away to the south from the town of Provadiya and 54 km away to the west from the city of Varna.
The village lies in a beautiful area among lavish greenery, where fields and hills are alternating with forests of various types. The climate is temperate-continental and is characterizeа with a cool summer, a sunny and gentle autumn, a snowy winter and a fresh spring. The population numbers to approximately 450 people. Altitude - 60 m.
The village is peaceful and quiet with well-organized infrastructure - fully electrified and with a central piping. The roads are in a good condition. Coverage of all mobile operators is available. In Komarevo there is a mayoralty, food shops, a post office, an Orthodox church built in 1870, a tavern, a cafe, a community center with a library and a small park. Many brand new houses were built in the village during the past few years. A doctor's office and a school are available in the nearby village of Blaskovo - located 6 km away from Komarevo.
A river named Glavnitza flows through the village. There are several dam-lakes in the village's surroundings and Tzonevo dam-lake, the third largest in Bulgaria, is located 20 km away from the village.
The area is ecologically clean and in it there is a protected area - a natural birds' habitat. Therefore it is an interesting destination for bird lovers. On the territory of the village there are many archaeological findings proving human presence in the area since ancient times.
The locals are predominantly occupied in farming (wheat, barley, corn and sun-flower). The area also offers excellent conditions for bee-keeping and herb-gathering.
Regular public transportation is available to Varna, Provadiya and the nearby villages.
