Izvorovo is a village in North-East Bulgaria, part of General Toshevo municipality, Dobrich region. It is located 16 km north-west to the town of General Toshevo, 50 km north-east to the town of Dobrich, 2 km south to the village of Krasen and 67 km to the city of Varna.
general information
The village is set in the Danube Valley at an altitude of 200 m. The climate is temperate-continental and is characterised by a hot summer and a cold winter with plenty of snowfalls. The population numbers to approximately 300 people.
infrastructure
In Izvorovo there are grocery shops, a restaurant, a church, a community center with folklore groups and a library. The nearest school and kindergarten are located in the village of Krasen and the nearest doctor's office is in the town of General-Toshevo.
Regular bus transportation is available to the towns of General-Toshevo and Dobrich, the city of Varna and the nearby villages.
landmarks
- The mill in Izvorovo - it was the site where a famous Bulgarion drama written by the writer Yordan Yovkov took place
- Karaliyski kaynak /karaliyski spring/ - a spring of fresh, cold water over which a memorial slab is placed back in 1905
- St. Nicholas of Summer church in the village of Krasen was built in 1866 and is one of the oldest in Dobrudja region. In Krasen village there are also to be found the Filipova pub, the school and the museum of Yordan Yovkov - a great Bulgarian writer who used to live and write in the village
- The memorial of Dora Gabe, built in the community center in the village where she was born - Dabovik.
