Zhalt bryag is a village in southeastern Bulgaria. It is located in Tvarditsa Municipality, Sliven region.

It is located 27 km northeast from the town of Tvarditza, 33 km northwest from the town of Sliven, nearly 33 km in the same direction from the resort Sliven Mineral Baths and 307 km east from the city of Sofia.
There is regular bus transport to Tvarditsa.

Located in the foothills of the Sliven Balkan at 408 meters altitude. The climate is mountainous and temperate continental. The winter here is cold, snowy and long, cool summer. Environmental conditions are favourable for the cultivation of fodder crops, potatoes, tobacco, raspberries.

The population is about 380 people. Mostly dealing with viticulture and horticulture.

The village has a town hall, community center, post office, kindergarten, two shops and a cafe. There is cable TV, Internet and mobile phone coverage. In the village of Byala palanka / 3 km northwest / there is a school and there you will find two GPs. The nearest hospital is in the town of Sliven.

Tourism and landmarks

Reserve "White Cow"  situated in the village of Byala palankais is rich in wild game (deer, roe deer, wild boar, wolf, fox, etc.), rock formations and caves. Especially attractive is the karst spring in the reserve from which gushes pearly clean water.

Near the village run three rivers: Big River (Kodzha Dere), Little River (Kucuk Dere) and Kodzhamar gully. They have a variety of fish - barbel, gudgeon, maple, brown trout.

In the town of Tvarditsa you can visit:

- Fortress "Gradishte" - believes that the fortress was founded as a Thracian fortress. Here you can see the remains of a church from X-XII century partially preserved fragments of wall paintings.

- Church "St. Petka" - the church was rebuilt in 1834 on the old church foundations dating from the XVI century. The iconostasis and icons are of high artistic value.

- In the land of Tvarditsa are historical sites: area Navitsata, Haidushki pat and Gypsy River.

- "Big Poplar" - Tvarditza, Kozarevo quarter. Poplar has a height of 29 meters and width of 7.3 m trunk. Predicted age is about 100 years. The tree was declared a protected site with its impressive size.

- "Cave Pchena" - located north of Tvarditza in area Paisii. The cave entrance is located at 1280 meters altitude. The total length of the galleries is 152 meters, in the main gallery were formed two deep ravines and after the second gallery at the end of the cave stream flows at a height 12 m.
