Zhedna is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Radomir municipality, Pernik region.
It is 14 km south of Radomir and 28 km in the same direction from the town of Pernik. The capital Sofia is 58 km northeast and the village of Izvor is 6 km west.
It is located in the Radomir field and its altitude is 814 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by cold winter with little precipitation, late and cool spring, cool summer with lots of precipitation and warm fall.
Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements. There are constructed water and electricity systems.
The permanent population is about 90 people.
Here are functioning mayor's viceroyalty, church, community center, shop and coffee shop. The nearest GP and school are in the village of Izvor. Specialized medical assistance you can get in Radomir where there are also kindergartens or in Pernik.
Tourism and landmarks
The church "St. Dimitrii Mirotochets" in the village is constructed in 1862 and is declared art monument of culture.
The natural landmark Yankovets near the neighboring village of Klenovik (4 km) is hundred year old oak forest and there also is found wild peony.
Stefanovo dam which is just 9 km from the village offers great opportunities for the people who enjoy fishing. It is stocked with pike, perch, rudd, trout etc. and the fishing is allowed at night.
