Dryanovets is a village in Northern Bulgaria. It is part of Byala Municipality, Ruse Region.
There are three more villages in Bulgaria with the same name. They are located in Razgrad Municipality (Razgrad Region), Dobrich Municipality (Dobrich Region) and Chepelare Municipality (Smolyan Region).
It is 64 km south from the centre of Ruse, 17 km south-east from town of Byala, 188 km north-west from town of Varna and 270 km north-east from city of Sofia.
The population is approximately 730 people.
The village is set in the Danube plain, at Baniski lom riverside. The sea altitude is about 100 m. The relief characterizes with round low hills and plateau-shaped lands cut through valleys. The climate is humid continental - hot summers and cold winters. The winter temperature is about -10 C, and the summer one is about 30 C.
Dryanovets is well-developed and provided with electricity, water supply and communication equipment. There is a town-hall, a post office, a community centre with a library, an orthodox church, food shops and other commercial areas. Bus transportation serves the population.
The nearest operational school, kindergarten, health services and pharmacy are in the neighbouring village of Koprivets.
The population is occupied in agriculture (corn, sun-flower, wheat, barley, oats). Animals are raised in the private houses.
TOURISM
Baniska Dam is set in close proximity. The dam is convenient for agriculture fishing. There are carps, chubs, sheat-fish and other freshwater fish.
The village is with great potential of hunting tourism. It is in close proximity to the forest of Byala where could be found population of red deer.
Place of interest is 'St Petka' Monastery in the neighbouring village of Koprivets. According to the legend it was established during the Second Bulgarian Kingdom, but later it was burnt down. It has been re-established in 1989. The monastery implement baptisms, weddings and masses.
