Dobrostan

Dobrostan is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is in Asenovgrad Municipality, District of Plovdiv.
It stands about 25 km south of the town of Asenovgrad, about 45 km south-east of the town of Plovdiv and about 190 km of the capital of Sofia in the same direction.
Regular bus transportation links the village to Asenovgrad and the surrounding settlements.
Dobrostan is in a mountainous area, at an altitude about 1220 m.
Climate in the region is continental, with mild winters and cool summers.
The population in the village is about 63 residents.
The infrastructure is settled with partly asphalted streets and lights, water-supply system, telephone lines and coverage of mobile operators.
There is a town house, church, a number of chapels, shops.
Medical services to the village residents are provided by GP in the village of Cherven (about 16 km) and the closest hospital is in Asenovgrad. In the municipal town are located the closest schools as well.

In the surroundings, there are many karst caves, some of them have impressive size. The slopes around the village, and air currents create the right conditions for paragliding.
In the settlement is the "Red Wall" Reserve, which has 645 species of vascular plants and 96 endemic and relict species. There were 63 species of birds, 17 species of which are included in the "Red Book of Bulgaria" and mammals found bear, chamois, deer and more.
The village, located some 5 km hut "Martsiganitsa" is a starting point of hiking trails to Krastova Gora, Belintash (about 15 km) village of Bachkovo (about 35 km) and others.
