Djerman is a village inWestern Bulgaria. It is part of Municipality Dupnitsa, District of Kyustendil.

It stands 40 km south-east of the town of Kyustendil and 2 km south-west of the town of Dupnitsa.

The population is about 1360 residents.

The relief is flat ant hilly, with average altitude of 570 m.
The climate in the region is continental, characterized with moderately cold winters and warm and dry summers.

Djerman is with well-developed infrastructure, including partly asphalted and lighted streets, electrical, water-supply and sewerage systems, telephones, coverage of mobile operators and Internet.

The village is on the route of E79, linking the settlement to the towns of Dupnitsa, Blagoevgrad and Sofia.

There is regular transport from and to Dupnitsa.

The village residents dispose of a town house, school, kindergarten and community center. The temple Uspenie Bogorodichno was built in 1880.

Medical care for the residents of Djerman is provided by GP. There are shops and restaurants.

Attractions

Djerman River runs through the village and the riverbank is suitable for fishing, walks picnics and recreation in the nature.

There are several monasteries and hut in the vicinity.

About 20 km south-east is the town of Sapareva Banya, known for its unique spas. The water there is among the hottest inEurope, with temperatures about 103°C. The only geyser in the Balkans is in the center of the town.
