Village of Gradsko

Gradsko is a village in southeastern Bulgaria. It is located in Sliven Municipality, Sliven region.

It is 26 km northwest from the town of Sliven, 34 km northeast from the town of Tvarditza and 313 km in the same direction from the capital city Sofia. Novachevo village is 3 km southeast.
There is a regular bus service to the town of Sliven.

Located at an altitude of 556 m and the climate is mountainous and temperate continental. The winter here is cold, snowy and long, cool summer.

The population is about 570 people.

The village has a town hall, library, chapel, shops and cafe. There is cable TV, internet and mobile phone coverage. In Novachevo there is a kindergarten and a school, you'll also find a general practitioner. The nearest hospital is in the town of Sliven.

Tourism and landmarks

Area Karandila is located in the northeast part of Sliven. There is situated the National Park "Blue Rocks" with an area of 11,380 hectares, it has many interesting rock formations.

In Sliven guests can visit : church "St. Sofia", church"St. Mary", the History Museum, the Ethnographic Museum, the House - Museum Hadzhi Dimitar.

34 km away is one of the largest spa complexes in the country, Sliven Mineral Baths.

In Tvarditsa you can see:

- Fortress "Gradishte" - a few kilometres from Tvarditza are the ruins of an ancient Thracian fortress "Gradishte". Here you can see the remains of a church from X-XII century partially preserved fragments of wall paintings.

- Church "St. Petka" - the church was rebuilt in 1834 on the old church foundations dating from the XVI century. The iconostasis and icons are of high artistic value.

- "Cave Pchena" - located north of Tvarditza in the area Paisiy. The cave entrance is located at 1280 meters altitude. The total length of the galleries is 152 meters, in the main gallery were formed two deep ravines and after the second gallery at the end of the cave stream flows at a height 12 m.
